This company is a specialist contractor in microtunnelling, trenchless pipeline installation and complex civil infrastructure. They are known for their technical capability in microtunnelling, slurry shield tunnelling, shaft construction, deep services and utility upgrades.

About the Role

You will lead multiple trenchless and microtunnelling projects, ensuring safe and efficient delivery across the NSW operations. The role will involve building high-performing crews, supporting the tender and planning process and driving best practice execution in shaft sinking, pipe jacking, microtunnelling operations and civil integrations works. You will work closely with the Operations Manager and Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, safely and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of microtunnelling and associated civil works (shaft construction, pipe jacking, slurry microtunnelling, trenhless utility installations)
  • Ensure tunnelling operations comply with the design requirements, ground conditions and equipment performance
  • Troubleshoot on-site challenges related to ground conditions, tunnelling alignment, plant performance or shaft logistics
  • Build, mentor and lead high-performing project teams
  • Work with the estimating & operations teams on methodologies for tenders and resource planning
  • Oversee construction planning, shaft sequencing, jacking pipe logistics and tunnelling support systems
  • Ensure microtunnelling activities meet engineering, quality and environmental requirements
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor of civil, Mechanical or related engineering discipline. Experienced Supervisors or Superintendents with substantial trenchless experience also considered
  • Minimum 10 years experience in project and construction management, ideally in trenchless works
  • Strong understanding of microtunnelling systems and jacking pipe requirements, shaft construction methods, ground conditions and geotechnical behaviour
  • Excellent leadership, communication and client management skills
  • Proven ability to deliver complex civil or trenhless projects safely and efficiently
